Sodium Silicate casting is cheaper but results in a rougher surface finish and lower dimensional accuracy, often requiring more secondary machining.
2. Which stainless steel grades are best for marine and chemical pump impellers?
For typical marine setups, ASTM A351 CF8M (equivalent to cast 316) is the standard due to its molybdenum content, which resists pitting.
